Swordtail Butterfly facts:
The Scientific Name of the Swordtail Butterfly is Graphium policenes. Graphium is a genus of mostly tropical swallowtail butterflies commonly known as swordtails, kite swallowtails, or ladies. Native to Eurasia, Africa, and Oceania. The Swordtail lives in tropical Africa, for instance in Ghana. The wingspan is 55–60 mm in males and 60–65 mm in females. There are 100 different species. Their coloration is as variable as the habitats where they occur; from rainforest to savannah. Some have long tails like swords, while others lack any hindwing extensions. They have the most intense contrasting pattern, sometimes with blue dots and red stripes. You can find Graphium species mostly at mud puddles.
Together with our small butterflies collection you can make a room full of butterflies.
