They are tiny! Their size is 0.3 to 0.4 inch.

Did you know that there are about 5.000 different Ladybug species in the world? Ladybugs come in many different patterns and colors, but the most familiar is the seven-spotted Ladybug which lives in North America. They have a shiny, red-and-black body. In many cultures, Ladybugs are considered to give good luck and are a symbol for love. Most people like Ladybugs because they are pretty, graceful, and harmless to humans. But farmers love them because they eat aphids and other plant-eating pests. One Ladybug can eat up to 5.000 insects in its lifetime! Their markings tells a predator: “Eat something else! I taste horrible.”
When a Ladybug is threatened, they will secrete an oily, foul-tasting fluid from joints in their legs. They can also play dead to escape form a predator.
