Penguin facts:

The scientific nam of a penguin is Spheniscidae. They most of them live in the Antarctic. But not all live in cold places! The Galápagos penguin stays nice and warm living near the equator. In fact, they’re the only penguin species found outside of the Southern Hemisphere. They can swim at speeds over 10 miles per hour. Gentoos, the speediest penguins, can top 20 mph, but most species dart around at a more modest 4 to 7 mph, and also dive down over 800 feet. Some penguin species mate for life. Some females can even find their old mates within minutes of arriving at the colony each season. Couples locate each other with distinct calls. The unique sounds help them reunite on the breeding ground — a not-so-easy task when there are thousands of identical birds around.

Penguins are total social butterflies. The largest penguin colonies — called rookeries or waddles when assembled on land — include hundreds of thousands of birds.
Emperor penguins incubate eggs on their feet. The male penguins keep them warm under a loose fold of skin. They stay that way for months until the eggs hatch — not leaving even to eat!

We are sure you would love to have this special guest in your house.
And extra big is extra fun 🙂 can you see it waggling to your fridge? There are 2 colour versions of the paper penguin: gold with an ice-white belly or completely ice-white. It takes about 7 hrs to build this one. Penguins are known to stick with their partners and this cute one would like to stay with you for its whole life!

We also have a smaller version so you can start making your own colony right now.
